How to Find Out How Much I've Spent on League of Legends

League of Legends is a completely free game and doesn't require any money out of you to play it. However, the in-game skins for our champions are so sweet that we sometimes just can't help ourselves. Almost every LoL player on the planet has purchased at least one item out of the Shop, be that a skin, a chroma, a hextech chest, or something else entirely.

Every transaction in League of Legends happens through Riot Games' own currency, called Riot Points, or RP. And when you spend your "real life" money in League of Legends, you're actually buying RP first. Then, you use your RP to purchase your favorite skins and emotes. A pretty simple system, right? That's how it has been since the start of the game.

Now, different champions have differently-priced skins, and even ward skins have their own unique value. In other words, you can get your favorite thing in League for $5 or $50, depending on what that thing is.

Some champions have such game-changing skins that most of the LoL community ends up buying them. These skins are usually optimized much better visually than the basic champion's appearance. So they result in us playing the game better. And plus they're very cool…

So, it's not uncommon for a League of Legends player to get carried away and just spend too much on the game. If you feel like that, or you're just curious to check how much money you've spent in total on your League of Legends account, now you can do so!

These are the steps to see how much money you've spent in League of Legends.

  • Step 1: Visit the official support page provided by Riot Games concerning your League of Legends account's actual spending.
  • Step 2: Log in with your League of Legends account that you want to check the info on.
  • Step 3: Hit the red "Show me the money" button in the middle of the text. And you're done!

After you're done with the 3rd step, all the money that you have spent on that particular account and in that specific region will be displayed for you.

Please note that the information is tied to your current region (the region where your account is at the moment). In case you've ever transferred your League of Legends account to one or multiple servers, any spendings done on those servers will not be shown here. And when you transfer back to those regions, the money you have spent there will be available for you to check, and the current ones hidden.

Look. Skins, emotes, and icons are all optional in League of Legends. No one is forcing us to spend even a cent on the game. Quite the contrary, because the core game is free, we choose to personalize some of its aspects by purchasing the cosmetic options from the Shop. Some even do it to support the developers at Riot Games.

But no matter what is your reason for buying stuff in League of Legends, the chances are that you're going to spend at least $100 throughout your career.Somewhere around that hundred bucks is the number of how much an average League player spends. That's from all regions and countries around the globe.

And, of course, not everyone reaches that number. There are LoL players who are perfectly fine with how the champions look in their basic appearance and have no need to buy skins at all. But there are also some people that go to extremes and buy literally everything from the Shop. They go for unnecessary stuff, really, so they end up spending too much money on League of Legends.

Me, personally, I have spent precisely $125 on League of Legends. And in my opinion, this money was "well-spent" and totally worth it. That's because I've purchased many skins for my favorite champions, which were necessary for my ranked success (Diamond 1 peak).

If you want to know exactly what I'm talking about, just check the difference between Zoe and Star Guardian Zoe. Anyone can clearly see how much wider and thicker Star Guardian Zoe's abilities appear in-game compared to the basic skin. This helps me hit my skill shots much more frequently and makes me feel powerful with my champion. As a result, I play better and win more. And for that,I say the money was totally worth it!

Final Words

Many video game titles have taken League's example. They install their own currency to sell only cosmetic items rather than pay-to-win features. And the idea is simple – if you like it, you can buy it, and if you don't like it, you can leave it.

Spending money in League of Legends isn't bad, as long as you don't go bankrupt or abuse your parents' credit cards. Riot Games have their own policies and parental controls, so you might want to check them too.

But our philosophy is – if you like it and can afford it, then definitely buy it!
